Gregory Taite Stewart Tata

Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa



He was born at Judea Pa, Tauranga and was educated at Tauranga Boys’ College. He attended Brigham Young University, Hawaii, where he graduated with B.A. (Hons) in 1975. In 1978 he graduated from Brigham Young University, Provo, with M.Mus. He is an executive member of New Zealand Society for Music Education and the New Zealand Choral Federation. He is a former associate lecturer in Music Education at Brigham University, Hawaii. Tata is currently Senior Lecturer in Music at the Auckland College of Education. He was musical director for Man of La Mancha in Suva, Fiji, in 1976, and Messiah in Suva, Fiji, in 1977. He is an adjudicator/workshop leader for community organisations.
